The tool uses i0n1c’s untether exploit. It does not updates the baseband and retains an unlock if your iPhone is on baseband 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 or 06.15.00. Sn0wbreeze 2.5 lets you update your iPhone 3GS to 06.15.00 baseband for unlocking.
