Google has reported a large increase in the number of searches for the “royal wedding”. After the marriage of The Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, and Antony Armstrong-Jones which was the first royal wedding to be broadcasted live, this royal wedding of Prince William is lined up to start a new trend.

The Royal Household announced that they will be live broadcasting the royal wedding ceremony on their official YouTube channel (The Royal Channel). The live streaming will be done for the wedding procession, marriage ceremony at Westminster Abbey and balcony kiss. The live stream will begin at 10:00 AM BST (9:00 AM GMT, 2:00 AM PT, 5:00 AM ET, 2:30 PM IST) on Friday, April 29 2011. The wedding footage will be available on the channel for afterward viewing.

There is also a video guest book on YouTube open for public to upload their video compliments and love to the royal couple. For the first time, on this large scale, a royal wedding is being broadcasted online, is surely a giant leap for internet and social media.
