To do so, you first need to tap both "delete account" and the switch to disable Find My iPhone at the same time in the iCloud settings panel. That's actually the hardest part of the entire process. And we've got all the details under one roof!</p><p><strong>Features</strong></p><p>The iPhone 5s packs Apple's all-new A7 processor, which is of the 64-bit variety, which naturally delivers a stronger performance compared with that of its predecessor. This enables iOS 7′s animations to run smoothly and without any kind of lag. Of course, the A6 has been relatively strong for the iPhone 5 during the course of the last year, but with A7 pushing the boundaries just that little bit further, the iPhone 5S will surely be among the smoothest devices on the market.</p><p><img title="iPhone5S" border="0" alt="iPhone5S" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iPhone5S.png" width="599" height="257" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; "></p><p>So yes, in case you're wondering, the iPhone 5s is the first ever smartphone which has a 64-bit processor. Apple goes as far as saying that <em>'the other guys aren't even talking about this'</em> yet.</p><p>Home button / Touch ID:</p><p>Every new iPhone needs a feature to talk about, and the iPhone 5s has precisely that with a fingerprint sensor, which Apple is officially calling 'Touch ID', apart from the apt description of Home button. Enabling a device to be unlocked without typing in a PIN or password – a cumbersome rigmarole at the best of times – it brings enhanced security while also being rather cool.</p><p><img title="Touch ID" border="0" alt="Touch ID" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Touch-ID.jpg" width="400" height="551" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; "></p><p>But wait, there's more, Touch ID can read multiple fingers, which means it's not limited to your thumb, for example. Touch ID is deeply integrated into iOS 7, according to Apple, which means that you can set it up to make iTunes purchases as well. In Layman's terms; your fingers are now your password. Win.</p><p>The traditional Home button is still there, but serves its purpose as a fingerprint sensor as well. The traditional square logo on the Home button is now a thing of the past.</p><p>Naturally, Apple has made quite a bit of fuss about the new feature, but hey, regardless of whether you see much benefit from it or not, it's a gimmick to get it selling.</p><p>Camera:</p><p>The iPhone 5s features dual-LED flash, which not only improves low-lighting shots, but also offers more natural lighting compared with the traditional, deer-in-the-headlights look.</p><p><img title="iPhone5sdualled flash" border="0" alt="iPhone5sdualled flash" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iPhone5sdualled-flash.png" width="590" height="267" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>The rear-facing snapper is an 8-megapixel, F2.2 wide aperture lens affair, and features 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second, and up to 120 frames per second at 720p, which is a massive leap on the iPhone 5. But that's not just it, the image sensor is now 15 percent more larger, which allows more detail to be captured in low light.</p><p>Still wondering about the 120fps part? Apple is introducing Slo-Mo with the new iPhone 5s, which lets you slow down parts of your video for that oh-so dramatic video shot.</p><p>To top things off, the iPhone 5s' camera now takes photos in burst mode, too. If you're into taking action shots, then the new burst mode will assure you never miss a scene.</p><p>Camera also features Auto image stabilization.</p><p>The front-facing camera, meanwhile, is a 1.2 megapixel offering, but seeing as it's only for FaceTime and such, its purpose doesn't stretch beyond showing vaguely viewable image.</p><p>Design:</p><p>The iPhone 5s is very much in the same vein as the iPhone 4S in that it looks almost identical to the iPhone 5. Aside from the rather distinctive Touch ID sensor, the iPhone 5s looks very similar to its older brother.</p><p>Having said that, there is one key difference; the iPhone 5s will, as rumored come in a gold color configuration, a decision which is likely to split the crowd as much as it already has. But while we perhaps all have opinions on whether a gold iPhone is a good idea or not, the fact remains that it's another option, which can never be a bad thing.</p><p>Color Options:</p><p>Gold, Silver, and Space Gray</p><p><img title="craft_hero" border="0" alt="craft_hero" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/craft_hero.jpg" width="590" height="154" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; "></p><p>Storage:</p><p>The iPhone 5s will offer 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage configurations. In a world in which we've become heavily reliant upon apps, it's good to see Apple preparing power users appropriately, and while some older models would have found 64GB of storage simply crippling, the A7 processor of the iPhone 5s should keep everything ticking over nicely.</p><p>Wireless:</p><p>The iPhone 5s offers all the usual wireless connectivity as you'd expect. Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (and no ac, which is a big bummer), 4G LTE with supports for even more bands around the globe.</p><p>Battery:</p><p>Apple has a bigger battery, which offers 10 hours of 3G talk time, 8 hours of 3G Web browsing, 10 hours of Web browsing on LTE, 10 hours of Web browsing on Wi-Fi. The iPhone 5s offers 250 hours of standby time, with 10 hours of continuous video playback, and 40 hours of music.</p><p>Software:</p><p>No surprises here, the iPhone 5s will run iOS 7 out of the box, but some features are exclusive to the iPhone 5s, such as burst mode and Slo-Mo.</p><p>Accessories:</p><p>Apple has also announced the official leather case for the iPhone 5s. So, if you're in the market and looking for a decent leather case, then the official accessory is your best bet from this point onwards. It will</p><p><strong>Release Date</strong></p><p>The iPhone 5s will be available to buy in stores on Friday, September 20th. Read on for everything you need to know about the new iPhone 5c.</p><p><strong>Features</strong></p><p>The budget model runs on the same dual-core A6 processor seen within the iPhone 5, which means daily tasks on the iOS 7 operating system should be a relative breeze. It was heavily rumored that Apple would continue using its in-house iPhone 5 SoC for the iPhone 5c, and following the announcement, we now know this to be the case.</p></p><p>As far as storage goes, the iPhone 5c arrives in two storage options: 16GB and 32GB. Those who were wondering whether the 5c will be available in 64GB configuration will be disappointed.</p><p>Design:</p><p>As per the leaks and speculation, the iPhone 5c is comprised a polycarbonate finish to the rear, and arrives in a plethora of different colors, including green, yellow, blue, white and red. This won't have the same premium feel as flagship iPhone models we've seen, but given how many high-end smartphones, like the Nokia Lumia 920, have sported a shiny plastic finish in the past, it should still feel like a well-built Apple product to the touch.</p><p><img title="iphone5c-gallery1-2013" border="0" alt="iphone5c-gallery1-2013" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iphone5c-gallery1-2013.jpg" width="590" height="247" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><img title="iphone5c-gallery2-2013" border="0" alt="iphone5c-gallery2-2013" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iphone5c-gallery2-2013.jpg" width="590" height="236" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>The Home button remains at the bottom in the center, providing the same functionality it always has, while the volume rockers sit on the left-hand side. In essence, the iPhone 5c is very similar to the iPhone 5, but takes away one or two perks in order to remain as inexpensive as possible.</p><p>Wireless</p><p>Like the iPhone 5 before it, the iPhone 5c is fully supportive of 4G LTE, and with many cellular providers now driving forward their efforts towards 4G, this can only be a good thing. Ideal for streaming movies and downloading music, 4G LTE ensures ultra-fast data speeds when not connected to a hotspot, and with the iPhone 5 having been the first handset to offer support, the iPhone 5S follows on in a similar vein.</p><p><img title="lte_wireless" border="0" alt="lte_wireless" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/lte_wireless.png" width="590" height="341" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>Wi-Fi, meanwhile, supports both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, which, in Layman's terms, means you shouldn't experience much by way of interruption when using your Wi-Fi at home.</p><p>Rest is all standard, such as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, cellular triangulation etc.</p><p>Camera</p><p>The main camera, like the processor, is borrowed from the iPhone 5, with that same 8-megapixel offering to which we've already become accustomed. When it did arrive late last year, it boasted better low-light performance than those of its predecessors, with an F/2.4 lens, so those with a tendency to get snap-happy on the likes of Instagram and Flickr should be more than impressed by this revelation.</p><p><img title="iPhone 5C camera" border="0" alt="iPhone 5C camera" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iPhone-5C-camera.png" width="590" height="288" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>The front-facing camera, meanwhile, shoots in 720p HD, and while it's by no means comparable to the rear shooter, should still do a solid job when FaceTiming or taking those selfies.</p><p><img title="isight_camera_facetime_hd" border="0" alt="isight_camera_facetime_hd" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/isight_camera_facetime_hd.png" width="590" height="289" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>In the camera department, it's set in stone that the iPhone 5c is surely a winner and will not disappoint the average user.</p><p>Battery</p><p>The battery and has been improved, and should keep things ticking over through general use. With some devices offering over 3,000mAh, it doesn't seem like an astonishing battery life, but with most iPhone 5 users satisfied by the longevity of their device through day-to-day usage, the iPhone 5c should once again be able to sustain a full day on a full charge.</p><p><img title="ios_7" border="0" alt="ios_7" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/ios_7.png" width="590" height="344" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>The iPhone 5c offers 10 hours of talk time on 3G, with up to 250 hours of standby time. When it comes to Web browsing, the iPhone 5C is a champ. It offers 8 hours of 3G Web browsing, 10 hours on 4G LTE and up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi.</p><p>iPhone 5c offers 10 hours of video playback and 40 hours of audio playback.</p><p>Lightning Port</p><p>Naturally, the iPhone 5c features the Lightning dock connector, after the phasing out of the larger 30-pin connector late last year. We'd love to have seen Apple go for something a little less proprietary, but hey, that's Apple!</p><p>Accessories</p><p>Out of the box, you get your dock connector, wall charger, EarPods headset and the usual literature, including quick-start information and, of course, your Apple stickers.</p><p><img title="iphone5c-gallery8-2013" border="0" alt="iphone5c-gallery8-2013" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/iphone5c-gallery8-2013.jpg" width="590" height="464" style="border-top-width: 0px; border-top-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-right-width: 0px; border-right-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: initial; border-bottom-color: initial; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; border-left-style: initial; border-left-color: initial; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p>But that's not all, Apple is also introducing new custom cases for the iPhone 5c, and from the image (above), you can see, gives your device a really cool look. For $29, it's a good buy and comes in a variety of color options!</p><p><strong>Price</strong></p><p>The 16GB iPhone 5c will cost $99, and the 32GB model will cost $199 on a two-year contract. The price for the unlocked model is as follows: 16GB for $549 and $649 for 32GB.</p><p><strong>Availability</strong></p><p>The device will be available to pre-order from Apple starting September 13th, and will be available in stores on September 20th.</p><div style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Verdana, Arial, 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.292969); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); "><br></div><br>Sent from my iPad</div>iTycoonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00688157859311218931noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226179580842939518.post-30858282550503686832013-09-07T14:27:00.001-07:002013-09-07T14:27:55.108-07:00The iPhone 5 Has Been Jailbroken on iOS 6.1.4!<div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Winocm has revealed the successful jailbreak of the iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4 via a picture just posted to Twitter.<br><br>In the screenshot seen below, Cydia is shown running on the phone. The album creator can share access to as many as 50 "contributors," who can each in turn share up to 200 photos. Previously, users could only upload photos to albums they created, and each album was limited to 1,000 total photos. The new shared albums have three available privacy settings: public, friends of contributors and contributors only.</i><br><br>The project was spearheaded by Bob Baldwin a software engineer at Facebook and his colleague Fred Zhao. A company-wide hackathon was held in January and about a dozen engineers worked through the night to create the feature.<br><br>"I think one thing that's really fun about creating products at Facebook is that you're never quite sure how people will use the product in the end," Baldwin said. "We're really excited for launch because we think people will use [shared albums] in ways that we're not even thinking of."<br><br>Album creators will have the power to delete or modify any photo in the album but contributors can only edit photos they've uploaded. Currently, there is a 200 photo limit per person; however, that may increase in the future. Also, the ability to create an album has yet to make it to mobile; however, you can contribute to an album from a mobile device. The feature is not available for Page albums.<br><br>Facebook is rolling out Shared Photo Albums to select English users today and will expand it to all English users before it finally reaches international users.<br><br><a href="http://mashable.com/2013/08/26/facebook-shared-photo-albums/" target="_blank">Read More</a><br><br><br><a href="http://iclarified.com/images/news/33154/136441/136441.jpg"><img src="http://m.iclarified.com/images/news/33154/136441/136441.jpg" width="100%" height="" border="0" alt=""></a></span><br><br><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Sent from my iPhone</span></div>iTycoonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00688157859311218931noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226179580842939518.post-56383307334791423242013-08-23T08:05:00.001-07:002013-08-23T08:05:17.906-07:00Apple has made its iWork for iCloud beta available to all users via iCloud.com<div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Apple has made its iWork for iCloud beta available to all users via <a href="http://iCloud.com">iCloud.com</a>. The latest app to get our juices flowing is xRec, and at less than two dollars we're going to go ahead and recommend everyone gets it downloaded now – before Apple pulls it.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">See, xRec does something that we've all lusted after at least once, especially those of us in the technology writing game. With xRec, believe it or not, anyone can record what is being displayed on their iPhone's screen in real-time. Want to upload a video of your battles with the aliens in XCOM, or perhaps show off your city in Clash of Clans? With xRec you need rely on screenshots no more.</span></p><p><img title="eliphone" border="0" alt="eliphone" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/eliphone.png" width="418" height="464" style="border: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Now we know you're probably saying that this is nothing new, and that screen recorders have been around for ages now. And you'd be right, but all the screen recorders we've heard of need the iDevice to be jailbroken in order for them to work. Where xRec differs, if it's not obvious enough at this point, is that it doesn't need a jailbroken device in order to function. Anyone running iOS 6 and an iPhone 3GS or above is good to go, which is pretty darned awesome in our book.</span></p><p><img title="kirmizi" border="0" alt="kirmizi" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/kirmizi.png" width="475" height="552" style="border: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Now earlier on we suggested that everyone download this before Apple pulls it, and potentially with good reason. We're not sure Apple wants people to record their iPhone screens, else they'd have made it easier to do and we'd have had apps like this long before now. It wouldn't be the first time an app has hit the App Store without Apple realizing what it does – the plethora of apps that allowed tethering are testament to that. If Apple does decide to pull xRec, we'd rather have it on our iPhones first!</span></p><p><img title="setting" border="0" alt="setting" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/setting.png" width="475" height="552" style="border: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">(Download: xRec for iPhone from <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xrec/id670777247?ls=1&mt=8" target="_blank">App Store</a>)</span></p><div><br></div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Post from my iPhone 5</span></div>iTycoonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00688157859311218931noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226179580842939518.post-14041958032386057472013-07-17T21:33:00.001-07:002013-07-17T21:33:42.782-07:00Whatsapp for iOS got updated <div><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">When it comes to cross-platform instant messaging, there are few able to compete with WhatsApp Messenger. Covering all of the major mobile operating systems, the only thing really missing from the repertoire is a Web app, but until that implementation arrives if ever, versions for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and others will do just nicely. Today, the iOS app has been given a reasonable update featuring iCloud chat history backup as well as support for sending multiple photos in a thread. Details after the jump.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">As a long-time user of iOS and having, as such, become accustomed to iMessage, my switch to Android as a daily driver required a decent messenger as a matter of priority. Facebook Messenger and Chat Heads, which incorporates the native messaging app, has stood me in good stead, but without WhatsApp as a kicker, I wouldn't have been able to keep in touch with half of my contacts.</span></p><p><img title="mzl_fkywzupp_320x480-75" alt="mzl_fkywzupp_320x480-75" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/mzl_fkywzupp_320x480-75.jpg" width="270" height="480" border="0" style="background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The app does have its inherent flaws, such as lack of any kind of ability to send full, high quality images, but I would think this has much to do with users unwittingly running up humungous carrier bills as anything else. Minor gripes aside, WhatsApp is a stellar service, and it's little wonder consumers from all platforms swear by it.</span></p><p><img title="mzl_jdjfaahv_320x480-75" alt="mzl_jdjfaahv_320x480-75" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/mzl_jdjfaahv_320x480-75.jpg" width="270" height="480" border="0" style="background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The latest update, which is only specific to those on iOS, brings in iCloud support for the backing up of conversations – pretty handy if you use iCloud for everything else. The feature has been a long time coming, and now, those looking to store conversations can do so indefinitely thanks to the power of Apple's ridiculously efficient cloud service.</span></p><p><img title="mzl_ovdspjoe_320x480-75" alt="mzl_ovdspjoe_320x480-75" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/mzl_ovdspjoe_320x480-75.jpg" width="270" height="480" border="0" style="background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Allied to iCloud support, there's also now the ability to send multiple photos to a contact at any one time, so if you're busily pushing through a whole album of last night's antics, you can spend less time selecting then sending, and more time nursing that <em>mysterious</em> headache.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">WhatsApp is, completely free of charge from this update onwards, and you can grab it via the link below or apply the update through App Store on your iPhone.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Here's to hoping that an iPad or iPod touch client makes its way to the App Store in the near future!</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><em>(Download: </em><a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997?mt=8" target="_blank"><em>WhatsApp for iPhone</em></a><em> on the App Store)</em></span></p><br><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Sent from my iPhone</span></div>iTycoonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00688157859311218931noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226179580842939518.post-33553343514392301672013-07-02T09:13:00.001-07:002013-07-02T09:13:38.861-07:00Geohot Rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 Active<div><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH4VqYTFuntbJpF7I5dZM9rDbtU_v-a2298boKkvm0H1hPcQQ79bugHXZxtyuVL44EYUh7nng3kKcP6WDLsaIGni-srBYs2mebBj9tm1OQukCMQkyhELG1ObhVKELmgdgH1YqvWzEiTzI/s1600/image-718862.png"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH4VqYTFuntbJpF7I5dZM9rDbtU_v-a2298boKkvm0H1hPcQQ79bugHXZxtyuVL44EYUh7nng3kKcP6WDLsaIGni-srBYs2mebBj9tm1OQukCMQkyhELG1ObhVKELmgdgH1YqvWzEiTzI/s320/image-718862.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5896052160978995794" /></a></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It may have been a while since we have heard anything new related to George Hotz, aka Geohot, but it seems like he can never keep his name out of the cyber headlines for long. We certainly don't think Geohot was relying on the $455 but it does look like he was the first to get root.</span></p><p><img title="rooted_s4active" border="0" alt="rooted_s4active" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/rooted_s4active.jpg" width="540" height="360" style="border-width: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Geohot doesn't exactly appear to be a regular contributor to the XDA Android forums. He is classified as a "Junior Member" of the site with only 17 posts to his name in the two and a half years that his account has been active. Still, achieving root status on a popular device like the Galaxy S4 Active only two weeks after launch is likely to get him some kudos with the community. What makes the achievement even more impressive is that he had only picked up the device from the AT&T store that afternoon, apparently on his way back from the beach.</span></p><p><img title="shell_s4active" border="0" alt="shell_s4active" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/shell_s4active.jpg" width="590" height="431" style="border-width: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Anyone familiar with the work of Geohot should also know that he doesn't like to take the traditional root on things. It seems that he feels passive methods of achieving root are "so last summer", so to combat that has updated his own personal website with an automated root procedure. Currently, all A5+ devices cannot be jailbroken on the current iOS version, 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. Apple has stopped signing the iOS 6.1.2 firmware, which is the last firmware compatible with the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Whilst this isn't a huge problem for many jailbreakers, after all you can just choose not to update your firmware, it becomes an issue when you need to restore your device to stock iOS. You might need to do this for many reasons, such as a problem with a certain package or setting, and until now the only way to do so was to lose your untethered jailbreak. Enter Semi-Restore.</span></p><p><img title="DSC_0001" border="0" alt="DSC_0001" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/DSC_0001.jpg" width="599" height="398" style="border-width: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Semi-Restore is a Mac or PC application, which brings a one click restore to your jailbroken device, but what is special is that it will not erase your device's jailbreak. This is an extremely useful tool, and I'm extremely excited it's finally arrived. All you need to do is head over to the Semi-Restore website: <em><a href="http://semi-restore.com">semi-restore.com</a></em>, and download the specific software for your operating system. After doing this, the video embedded below will walk you through the very simple how-to process:</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Note: Semi-Restore is compatible with all jailbroken iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches running iOS 5.0 through iOS 6.1.2.</span></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">This tool comes as huge relief to me, and many other members of the iOS jailbreaking community. It has always been a nightmare trying to figure out how to workaround issues with your iOS install, but this no longer is the case. With an incredibly simple one click interface, you'll have as close to stock iOS on your jailbroken device as you could hope for.</span></p><p><img title="SemiRestore" border="0" alt="SemiRestore" src="http://cdn.redmondpie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/SemiRestore.jpg" width="599" height="337" style="border-width: 0px; background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; "></p><p><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I would advise backing up your device before attempting this process, to ensure no critical data is lost during the restore. However if you're having problems with a totally bricked phone, for instance, it may be better to perform a totally clean install and remove the added variable of a potential corrupt backup. I'm extremely happy and excited that Semi-Restore has arrived, it should save us all a lot of hassle!</span></p><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; "><br></div><br><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Sent from my iPhone</span>iTycoonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00688157859311218931noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226179580842939518.post-90727462830081427792013-06-20T12:25:00.000-07:002013-06-20T12:26:24.633-07:00Introducing Video on Instagram<div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; "><br></div><div><div class="video-stage" style="position: relative; clear: both; margin: 15px 0px; padding: 20px 20px 5px; background-image: -webkit-gradient(linear, 0% 0%, 0% 100%, from(rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.246094)), to(rgba(0, 0, 0, 0))), url(http://instagram-static.s3.amazonaws.com/bluebar/blog/images/shared/noise-2.png); -webkit-box-shadow: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.898438) 0px 1px 0px, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.589844) 0px 1px 3px inset; box-shadow: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.898438) 0px 1px 0px, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.589844) 0px 1px 3px inset; background-position: 50% 50%; "><div class="fluid-width-video-wrapper" style="width: 270px; position: relative; padding: 151px 0px 0px; margin: 0px; -webkit-box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.398438) 0px 1px 10px; box-shadow: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.398438) 0px 1px 10px; "><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/68765934" frameborder="0" id="fitvid460640" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 270px; height: 151px; "></iframe></div></div><p style="text-align: -webkit-auto; margin: 0px 0px 10px; max-width: 800px; padding: 0px 20px; "><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Over the past two and a half years, Instagram has become a community where you can capture and share the world's moments simply and beautifully.
