Five things You have to Know Before Updating to iOS 4.3.2

iOS 4.3.2 was released by Apple yesterday to address issues with DNS, document viewer, blank or frozen video during a FaceTime call, issue with connectivity to 3G networks on iPad 3G + WiFi, vulnerabilities and battery life on all iOS devices.

Here’s a summary related to jailbreak and unlock:

  1. iOS 4.3.2 can be jailbroken with redsn0w or pwnage tool but it’s currently tethered.
  2. Baseband version did not change for all devices: iPhone 4 (4.10.01), iPhone 3GS (5.16.02) and iPad (7.11.01).
  3. iPhone 3GS users who accidentally update to iOS 4.3.2, can update the baseband to 6.15.00 using redsn0w and unlock with ultrasn0w 1.2.1 (read risks here).
  4. Gevey Turbo SIM works perfectly on iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.2 baseband 4.10.01.
  5. It’s still not possible to jailbreak iPad 2.
