Originally available only on Greenpois0n jailbreaks for iOS 4.2.1, animate is a package/tweak that allows jailbreakers to use their own custom animated bootlogos as opposed to the standard Apple bootlogo.
This feature then made its way into Redsn0w jailbreaks for iOS 4.3+ and Sn0wbreeze as an additional option to select when jailbreaking.
But many iPad 2 users felt that they have been left in the dust when it comes to animated bootlogos as JailbreakMe, their only jailbreak option, has no support for it.
Therefore, ih8sn0w, developer of Sn0wbreeze and iFaith has released animate fix, available on Cydia through the ModMyi repository as a free tweak.
What animate fix does is it allows animate itself to work, therefore enabling animated custom bootlogos for iPad 2s (and other devices that didn't enable support for it or support for it was not available when they jailbroke).
