This is the game that has been creating history. I can hardly think of a platform that this game is not present on. PC, Macs, iPhone and Android – Angry Birds is everywhere. In fact, a Facebook version is coming soon too. Rovio is also collaborating with 20th Century Fox to release the animated 3D movie Rio this April.
Getting back to the newly released game, the Angry Birds are going to get Angry-ier this time since they have been kidnapped and caged by smugglers who took them to Rio de Janeiro. The birds escape to save their friends, Blu and Jewel. Learn more about the game after the break.
Blu and Jewel are two rare macaws(also the stars of upcoming Rio movie). We have loved Angry Birds for its simple gameplay combined with realistic physics. Now, all that plus some new twists in the story(the movie’s effect) will surely keep us entertained until April 15th, when Rio is scheduled to be released.

New Features in Angry Birds Rio:
- Two fantastic episodes with 60 exciting levels!
- Completely new achievements!
- Special Hidden fruits discover them all!
- Put your Angry Birds skills to the ultimate test in a spectacular boss fight!
I particularly like the new backgrounds of the warehouses in Rio de Janeiro. The old badlands backdrop has become boring after playing through them hundreds of times. During my first look at the new game I also noticed that Rovio has added some depth to the backgrounds giving the game a stereoscopic 3D look as compared to the flattened 2D look in previous versions of Angry Birds.
App Store Download Links
Four versions of Angry Birds Rio have been released in the App Store.

You can try free versions first on both your iPhone and iPad. The free version has six episodes presently as compared to the sixty episodes in the paid application. You can buy Angry Birds Rio for iPhone or iPod Touch for $0.99 here and the Angry Birds Rio HD for iPad at $2.99 here.
Typical of Angry Birds, the game will be receiving more episodes via updates throughout the year.
