Pwn2Own Safari Exploit Not Fixed in iOS 4.3.1.

We have recently hear that Apple is going to fix the Exploit that was discovered in the Pwn2owncontest by the winner of Charlie Miller. So folks here is the good news for you, Apple didn’t patched that exploit in new iOS update of iOS 4.3.1, we just got confirmation from the Charlie Miller over his twitter account that the exploit was not patched.

0xcharlie Says:
iOS 4.3.1 does not fix the pwn2own bug. It’s weird they fixed it in the next os x update after the Contest, but not the next iPhone update.
The exploit which was discovered at pwn2own contest is going to be used for untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3 and will use for Comex’s founded userland exploit which going to be a next version of JailbreakMe 3.0. So guys the exploit was not patched but the question arise why Apple didn’t fix this famous exploit?

  1. Bigger issue here is that Miller isn’t allowed to reveal the bug per contest rules. So, unless someone gets exceedingly lucky, it’s not going to be used for a jailbreak.
