Apple has posted a listing of a job on their site, according to which the company is hiring an iOS developer who can radically improve the location services on iDevices. It has been rumored earlier that Apple is working on improving iOS Maps. Last December. four listing on experienced Navigation developer were found. Also, Poly9 and PlaceBase have been acquired by Apple and its an old rumor that just gets a shot in the arm today.
It is expected that Apple will introduce ‘Find My Friends’ service in iOS 5 along with new built in Map application. Since 1.x firmware, they have not updated the application yet. It seems that Apple is planning to reduce its dependencies on google by developing their own innovative navigation based map application for iOS.
