‘YouTubeToMp3′ Convert And Download YouTube Videos to MP3 For the iPhone

If you’ve ever listened to the background music of a YouTube movie, and thought to yourself, “Hey, I’d like to have an MP3 of that music,” then today is your day.
YoutubeToMp3 is a free jailbreak app for the iPhone that allows your to convert and download MP3 movies all on your iPhone, no computer required…

For those of you that don’t know, I’m a pretty big J-Pop fan, and a lot of the stuff that’s released in Japan will never see the light of day in the States. Thankfully, I can import a lot of my favorites from Amazon, but there are still quite a few things that are simply impossible to get my hands on.
Fortunately for me, YouTube is home to a bunch of obscure performances that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to see or hear. More than once I’ve heard something on YouTube that I would love to have as an MP3 for later enjoyment, so a tool like YoutubeToMp3 fits that need very well.

Basically, you feed the app a YouTube URL, and it extracts and downloads the audio to your iPhone’s download library. You can then choose to email the file to yourself, or you can just leave it on your iPhone and access it via the app, or via a file manager such as iFile.
The actual time it takes for the conversion process can of course vary, depending on the quality and length of the source material. Once the process is finished, there are options to rename the download to whatever you desire for archival purposes.

Overall, the oddly named app is a nice tool to have in your toolbox. It’s not something you’ll use every day, but it’s extremely helpful when you stumble upon something special on YouTube.
