Possible GPS Fix on iPhone 3G/3GS with iPad Baseband 6.15.00

One of readers has suggested a possible workaround to make the GPS on your iPhone 3G/S work again after upgrading your iPhone to baseband version 6.15.00. Currently we are still waiting for the baseband fix from the iPhone Dev Team.

This workaround will also work on other apps that rely on your GPS, such as TomTom GPS and it gives up to 1m (3 feet+) accuracy on pin-pointing your location. Not too bad!
What you need:
  1. Your iPhone has to be jailbroken (obviously – otherwise you won’t have baseband 6.15.00 :) )
  2. Bluetooth GPS logger device – either M-241 or 1200E is recommended
  3. BTstack app available via Cydia for US$5.00. The demo version does not send data to other apps.
Details of the workaround can be viewed on this YouTube video.
If you don’t like this solution, you can either wait until the fix is out or consider this
