The iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has confirmed today that Apple has patchedLimera1n exploit in iPad 2.

In case you don’t already know, all the current jailbreak tools are using Geohot’s bootrom based Limera1n exploit to jailbreak iOS based devices on the latest firmware. Since Limera1n exploit exists in the hardware, only a hardware revision from Apple could have patched it.

And now according to iH8sn0w’s findings, Apple has patched Limera1n in the just releasediPad 2. What this means is that you will not be able to jailbreak it with current jailbreak tools until and unless the leaked SHAtter exploit is also not patched. But if SHAtter is also patched, then someone will have to find another bootrom exploit in the new hardware for us tojailbreak it on iOS 4.3.
